Custom Video Games
We design and build cinematic video games starring the guest of honour. Playable keepsakes commissioned for weddings, milestone birthdays and once-in-a-lifetime moments.
The Adventures of
B Bear.
A painterly platformer starring a real, well-loved teddy bear. The toybox worlds and the cast of nursery toys were all generated from photographs of the originals.

No two commissions
play alike.
Genre, art direction and mechanics are chosen to fit the story: a storybook platformer, a cinematic fighter, a sun-bleached surf sim.

Noodles, Cake
& Elf.
A cinematic ten-character fighter. Every fighter is generated from a photograph of a real friend, with scripted taunts and a full arcade tournament mode.

Golden Hour:
World Surf.
A sun-bleached surf simulator built around chasing the perfect barrel, with generated reef breaks, rival heats and a wave-scoring system.

Noodles, Cake & Elf is a group of friends who have known each other since school. The game brought back a flood of memories from days spent playing Street Fighter in corner shops and in each other’s houses.
That is the point of the whole thing. Not a game with your face pasted on, but the people, objects and in-jokes that already mean something to you, turned into somewhere you can play together.
From a photo on your phone
to a playable world.
Five stages, and you see the work at each of them. The images below are the actual stages of a real commission, from reference photograph through to the finished title screen.
01You send the photographsThe people and things that matter.
One clear photo of each person, pet or object you want in the game, plus a short brief: the occasion, the inside jokes, the moment it is building toward. Phone photos are fine. What we are looking for is meaning, not resolution.
02We cartoonise themAn approximation with the likeness intact.
This is AI-driven and closely curated. We generate versions of each character, then keep pulling on them until the likeness reads instantly at the size it will actually appear on screen. The tell is never the detail, it is the silhouette and the posture.

03Sprites and supporting castEvery pose the game needs.
A character is not one picture. It is a walk cycle, a jump, a landing, a hit, a celebration, all consistent with one another. The same treatment goes to the objects with meaning: the sock, the toy rabbit, the family dog.

04Worlds and propsBackgrounds built in layers.
Skies, mid-grounds, foreground props and platforms are produced separately so they can move at different speeds. That parallax is what stops a generated backdrop looking like wallpaper and makes it feel like somewhere.
05Sequenced into a gameWhere it stops being artwork.
Frames are timed, physics are tuned, music and stage transitions are cut in, and the whole thing is played until it feels right. Sequencing is the difference between a folder of images and something a room can pass around.
We like bringing real people and real objects to life, because that is the whole difference between this and a generic game with your name typed into it.

The parts
worth knowing.
It depends on the scope of the game. We agree a schedule with you before the build begins.
One clear photo of each person you'd like in the game, and a short written brief covering the occasion. We take it from there.
Yes. Every commission ships as a private web-playable link that works on any phone or laptop. Other ways of presenting the game at your event can be arranged as part of the commission.
As personal as you like. Inside jokes, catchphrases, favourite songs, family pets, real photos. The more detail you share, the more the game feels like it was made only for you. Because it was.
Yes. The playable build is yours to keep, share and replay long after the event.
We build for clients worldwide. Anything involving physical delivery is arranged per commission.

How to Split the Cost of a Group Gift
The gift is rarely what goes wrong with a group present. The collection is.

What You Actually Get for £99
The cheapest tier is the one people assume is a token version. It is not, and the reason is worth explaining.

When a Custom Game Is the Wrong Gift
We make these, so this is the article we have the least incentive to write. It is also the most useful one.
