About the game

At 23:59, the attic layout at 14 Juniper Lane wakes up. Attic Express gives you the unfinished Midnight Line: lay track across the baseboard, add stations, buy engines and watch the railway begin to work.

This is a railway-building game rather than a race around a fixed course. Stations gather passengers and fares help pay for the next stretch of line. You can also choose the train-set mode, which centres on following a train, sounding its whistle and exploring the layout.

How to play Attic Express

Drag to move the view, pinch or Shift plus the wheel to zoom, and right-drag to orbit. In build mode, T lays track, B selects stations and X demolishes. In train-set mode, hold Space for the whistle and use Up/Down for speed. P pauses.

Choose Play to open the game. Use Full screen in the player to hide browser controls where supported, or play with the game filling the window. Exit game returns to this page.

Inside the build

How Attic Express was made

Attic Express shares its Three.js foundation with Roof Rider, but changes the interaction from driving to building. The track tool previews length, cost, radius and gradient before a section is committed. Trains use the resulting network to run circuits or shuttle along branches.

The surrounding world reuses carefully simplified assets from other projects: passengers, cars, launches and aircraft. Models are stripped of unseen detail and grouped where possible, so a populated railway does not require every object to be rendered at its original complexity.

The title artwork and opening film establish the attic setting. Camera presets then let you move between a plan, an isometric view, trackside positions and a moving train. The current project also includes a playful train-set mode alongside the railway economy.
